Over and over I am reminded that we never really know the full impact we have on others. Do you find that too?
This week I had the opportunity to meet with a group of elementary teachers at a public school what I do. One of my goals was to share ways their students could meet a female local author. I also offered to come do a mini worldview lesson with individual classes.
I had hoped to encourage these wonderful teachers and provide opportunities for their students. What surprised me was how greatly I was encouraged in return.
“Where is it?”
One teacher told about her granddaughter. When this friend of mine and her husband visited their grandchildren last weekend, this soon-to-be-8-year-old was frantically searching the house for a missing item.
“What are you looking for?” my friend queried.
“My book,” the girl replied. “You know, the book with the question mark on it that your friend wrote? I can’t find it!”
It turns out that this young family had been spending quality time together each day reading together out of The Answer Book: A Devotional for Busy Families. It meant so much to this little girl that she frantically searched the house when the book disappeared at the hand of her sister.
What a blessing to know this devotional is making a difference in the lives of this family.
Discipling Kids
Our goal at Parent Road Ministries is to equip as many families as possible with tools to help them disciple their children. We want to see children and families living lives sold out to Christ. That is our hope and our prayer.
