VIDEO transcript:
One of the things that I love about Easter and celebrating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is Easter egg hunts. I love looking for Easter eggs. Do you know why? When you pop them open, there’s usually a surprise inside.
This egg is empty. It reminds me of the best surprise ever. Do you know what happened when Jesus’ disciples came to look for Him in the tomb? The tomb was all sealed up. The grave was all sealed up with a rock in front of the opening, so there was no way to see inside. But, there was a surprise that morning. The door was open! And there was nothing inside. The ladies who came were very confused. They couldn’t figure out why it was open and where Jesus was.
Listen to what the angel said. This is Matthew 28, verses five and six. “The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: “He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.” Now I have told you.’” What exciting news! Jesus was no longer in the tomb. What a great surprise.
We have another surprise for you here at Parent Road Ministries. Because I love Easter egg hunts, we’re going to look for Easter eggs. Look for them in our blogs, look for them on our website, and when you find one, look for one with a word on it. [Image: Like this one…]
