Bible Book Memory Tricks for Kids: Gen. – Deut.

Today’s memory trick is from LifeWay. It’s an easy way to remember what’s in the first five books of the Bible. Genesis is “First.” It is the first book about the first things. Exodus is “Exit.” Exodus is about how God’s people exited from Egypt. Leviticus is “Laws.” There are lots and lots of laws in Leviticus. Numbers is the “Number 40.” Numbers begins with a bunch of numbers. It tells about the 40 years the Israelites spent in the wilderness. Deuteronomy is “Do-it-again.” It’s a repeat, a retelling, a “do-it-again” of the laws God gave Moses and the people. Learn more and watch the video here.

Bible Book Memory Tricks for Kids: Josh. – Ruth

Today’s memory trick begins the books of OT History with a mental link to the book that comes before (Deuteronomy). “Dude! Joshua judges Ruth!” Learn more and watch the video here.

Bible Book Memory Tricks for Kids: 1 Chron. – 2 Sam.

Today’s memory trick continues the books of OT History. “Ruth shouts ‘1, 2, Wheee!’ before going off to her job, which in the Bible is pronounced Job.” The “1, 2” books are 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles. “Sam is King of the Chronicles.” Don’t mix up 1 & 2 Chronicles with 1 & 2 Corinthians! They come in alphabetical order. Chronicles comes earlier in the alphabet and earlier in the Bible, in the Old Testament. Corinthians comes later in the alphabet and later in the Bible, in the New Testament. Learn more and watch the video here.

Bible Book Memory Tricks for Kids: Ezra – Esther

Today’s memory trick continues the books of Old Testament History. “Ruth shouts ‘1, 2, Wheee!’ before going off to her job.” See the three E’s in “Wheee”? The “Wheee!” books are Ezra, NEhemiah, and Esther (followed by Job). Learn more and watch the video here.

Bible Book Memory Tricks for Kids: Poetry
