Are your children equipped to live in today’s world?

Are you looking for a weekly family worship guide or a daily family devotional? Parent Road Ministries desires to help you in this important quest.

This ministry sprang, in part, from conversations with hundreds of real parents, grandparents, step-parents, and foster parents like you. Something is missing in the way young people are discipled and taught the things of God.

Laying a Foundation

Schools around the world know the importance of laying the foundation for more difficult concepts early. For example, children no longer wait to learn algebraic concepts until high school. As kids begin learning math facts around age 6, they learn how to think abstractly. It’s not just 2+2=?. It is also 2+?=4. That’s pre-algebra in a first grade classroom, my friend!

Unfortunately, many families and churches still follow the old model, waiting until children are “old enough” to begin teaching more difficult concepts. Most children’s Sunday school and mid-week programs I’ve seen focus on teaching foundational Bible truths, learning key passages, and/or developing biblical character traits. This is not enough for kids in our world today.

Christians are being challenged at younger and younger ages to defend their faith, sometimes even from authority figures. I knew a kindergartner who faced strong opposition from an atheist friend at school.

I believe there is a better way to equip children for lasting faith.

Equipping Children

We need to equip our children to think about their faith and decide for themselves what they believe and why. For Christian parents, that means teaching children to ask questions and search the Bible for answers. It’s our God-given job.

“Train up [your] child in the way he [or she] should go” (Proverbs 22:6).

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them…” (Deuteronomy 6:5-9).

Parent Road Ministry is a non-denominational ministry that partners with busy families and churches to equip parents to do just that. Our resources include short Devotionals for Busy Families and Small-Group Guides. Both of these resources are designed for use in family or multi-generational settings. Topics fall within the categories of Worldview or Theology (the study of God) for Kids.

Want to learn more? Check our our Devotionals for Busy Families. These guides are written as daily family Bible studies, but several families use them as weekly family worship guides instead.
